All recycling is supposed to be free of food and debris.  Due to recent concerns with the cleanliness of plastics in the recycling program, our contractor will not be collecting recyclable items with food residue or items that are wet and dirty.  Please ensure that you have properly cleaned the containers you place in your blue box, or it will be left behind.

We have revised the guidlelines for recycling to reflect the new stricter regulations being enforced by the recycling depot.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE GARBAGE
DO NOT PUT THEM IN YOUR BLUE BOX

 ALL GLASS (bottles, jars, jugs, dishes, ceramics, window panes, mirrors, etc.)
 ALL BLACK PLASTIC (includes garbage bags)
 BUBBLE WRAP / RIGID PACKAGING
 CARDBOARD/PAPER (dirty or wet)
 COFFEE & DRINK CUPS
 FILM PLASTICS (bags and cellophane)
 FRUIT & VEGETABLE CONTAINERS
 GIFT WRAPPING PAPER
 HANGARS
 HAZARDOUS PRODUCT CONTAINERS
 LAUNDRY BASKETS & STORAGE TOTES
 PAPER CANS WITH METAL ENDS
 PIPING
 PIZZA BOXES - DIRTY
 PLASTIC SPLINES
 PLASTIC TOYS
 POLYSTYRENE (all styrofoam, trays, and cups)
 WAXED CARDBOARD (milk & juice cartons)

**** Failure to follow the recycling guidelines will result in your recycling being left at the curb. Any contaminated recycling is garbage and will need to be bagged and tagged.

If our contractor accepts contaminated recycling, the entire load of recycling is rejected at the recycling depot and will be considered garbage. This results in additional costs for the municipality. ****
